With a goal of being the world’s next superstar, Joshua draws from a period in time when true showmanship meant the difference between being stuck making minimum wage at a dead end job or selling out the world’s biggest stadiums. As an ambassador of the district 7th for The city of Philadelphia’s arts and culture department, Joshua advocates for artists’ right to funding and equal opportunity. Just 5 years after taking a leap of faith and leaving his job at Wawa to pursue his music full time, Joshua Mitchell has been able to make a name for himself in Philly and beyond thanks to his soulful and catchy original music which chronicles excerpts from his life on his harrowing journey of becoming the world’s next superstar. Joshua’s music has accumulated over 350k streams, and thanks to his performances that he has taken all around the united states, he has been able to garner over 140k followers across social media platforms.

Since the summer of 2021, Joshua has cemented himself as a staple to the Philadelphia nightlife scene with the release of two dance singles; “Departed For The Evening” and “ Fill Up The Room”. Both songs accumulating over 50k streams thanks to inventive marketing strategies utilizing the power of tiktok, Instagram, and twitter; as well as the curation of exceptionally successful event series surrounding the singles, like ‘Departed: Ben Arsenal & Friends’.

Joshua has continued to showcase his genre bending range with the release of classic R&B slow jams like "“Talking Dirty”, House and Disco tracks like “The Circle” & “Night Shift” and Funk filled pop bops like “Stardust” and “Creatures of the Night”, Heartfelt ballads like FLY, and “Kiss You”, then Feel Good tunes like Flower Fields.

Wanting to expand what it means to bring his stories to life, In 2023 Joshua had his directorial debut alongside Liam Rosay for the music video to his fastest growing single at the time, “The Circle” in collaboration with Zach Atom. Since then, Joshua has released a total of 5 full length music videos / live performance videos where he has served as the sole director and editor. The music video for he and Shanko’s song “Creatures of the Night” & his live performance video “Joshua Mitchell - Stardust | Tiny Desk Contest 2026”, are both notable reflections of his status as a true visionary capable of bringing his expansive ideas vibrantly to life.
